Meet the Team

Heather Barbour Wyatt

Owner

I was born in Raleigh, NC and stayed in NC for college and professionally until 2015. I went to school for communication/business and worked in the corporate/education world from 2006 to 2014.

I started as a marketing intern at NC State University and then worked with Entrepreneurship students which then inspired me to open my own business. Wine & Design Charlotte became my life from 2011 to 2014 and I loved every minute. We sold the business which has led me to where I am now. I do contract writing, marketing, and social media work and have become a certified Travel Specialist, PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) and day sailing captain.

I love traveling, exploring and writing about my adventures so I decided why not make that my full-time job. ItsJustBarbs Travel is my newest adventure. I can help you book the trip of your dreams anywhere in the world.

I also love bikinis, cats, and a nice glass of bubbly!

Hannah Withrow

Travel Assistant

My name is Hannah, and I was born and raised in Yankton, SD. I played Division I golf for the University of South Dakota, while obtaining a bachelor’s degree in psychology. After graduation, I worked part time in a hospital and as a part time nanny for a local family. With aspirations of attending medical school, I decided to broaden my cultural medical experience and volunteered for three months in a diabetic centre in Barbados.

My entire life I have been blessed to be able to travel consistently. It is one of my absolute favorite things to do. I love experiencing new places, people, and cultures. Every place I visit offers something different and unique, with the ability to learn and challenge myself, which I strive to do every day. I love all the adventures traveling brings, and being able to share them with friends and family is what makes the entire journey most memorable.

Aside from traveling, I love golfing, shopping, beach days, the ocean, music, elephants, and rosé.

Sarah Hubbard

Travel Concierge

Growing up in England I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel from a young age with my family, experiencing varied cultures, climates and cuisines. I soon learned that I found excitement in variety, in new experiences and in adventure. I became deeply interested in architecture and design, the different aesthetics found all over the world intrigued me and the effect environment had on my experiences fascinated me.

Travelling had also given me an appreciation of different cuisines and of wine, unsurprisingly my favourite environments to critique quickly became restaurants and dining out is still my favourite past time; travelling in Italy taught me that dining could be the entire entertainment for the evening rather than just a way to feel full and I now love nothing more than excellent food shared with good friends in a beautiful environment and of course with wonderful service.

My other passion has always been fitness, I love being active and pushing my body to achieve what it couldn’t before. So, whilst I do have a deep love for luxury and comfort, I also enjoy something a little more rugged! I’ve completed a summit trek of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa and trekked the Himalayas to Everest Base Camp; I’ve toured Thailand and Bali and adore the Far East.

At 23 I opened a Beauty & Holistic Salon with my design ethos strongly in mind. For seven years I saw first hand just how much an environment can improve client satisfaction and enjoyment. I also learned incredibly valuable lessons in customer service and team management. Most importantly this period taught me that I gained a huge amount of pleasure from working very closely with clients, conversing with hundreds of people a week and exchanging stories and from exceeding their expectations with the services my team and I provided.

The pull of travel and sunny climates has lead me to this next chapter in my life and I very much look forward to sharing with you the conversations, the experiences and the food!
